How much Dex do I need to open the Chest that contains the special sword? Orc Slayer?
Magic circles are realms/levels of magical abilities. The higher the circle, the more complex/damaging spells you can cast.
You don't have to have any Dex to open the chest, and if you're patient enough you can get by with only one lockpick. You just try to open it, and when your lockpick breaks, reload and try again. Unless you have the "scramble locks" option selected in the game menu, you should be able to figure out the lock pattern within two or three loads. Or maybe, you'll get lucky and get it the first time... use the force Luke! or... Firen.. _________________ "D'oh! I knew I should've saved sooner!" |

You dont need a certain dexterity score to open a specific lock
when picking a lock you must yourself figure out the combination by tapping left or right if you choose the right side it will say something like: that sounded good.
then you can try left or right again and and if it is correct
then you get the message again. if it is wrong however it says something like: shit and all over again.
the more difficult lock the more times you have to go left or right
the dex only measures how big the chance is if you do something wrong the lockpick will break.
I hope it Helps |

It kinda does, I just thought that the Lockpick system is totaly diffrent.
Another question, Ive been reading many pages of that huge Gothic II Guide (cant remember the name, the one that covers every quest and is basicly over 200 pages).. So anywho, Ive been reading it and the author of it didnt say much at all about Mages and such... Can anyone provide me a Guide for Mages?
Another question is... What exatly is a DragonHunter? How can you become one? What are they? Who? What do they do?
Edit: Another magic related question.
Lets say I want to do all of the possible Quests before I join and become a Novice (Chapter 1 quests)... How will I be able to handle all of the Magic? I mean, I will be bale to buy only X amount of Scrolls and not 1,000,000 scrolls... What happens when I run out? |

For mages, the higher the circle, the more powerful the spell. As far as orc slayer, no dex needed. Just 65 str. _________________ Just watch out you don't stress yourself out.

Yeah, at it was really depressing when I found out that the only difference between "Me" as a merc and "Me" as a dragonhunter was the armor. Dragonhunter armor is pretty nice, though.
Novices who become Fire Mages and Militia who become Paladin get new skills. |
