Pirates of the Caribbean Review @ GamesDomain |
|
GamesDomain has the first review of Bethesda's Pirates of the Caribbean, but the final score is 3.5/5 'only', and here's why:
This isn't your typical "movie licensed game" at all, actually. Once you're past the technical hurdles (and the brutal realization of just how easy it is to die in a swordfight or sea battle), Pirates of the Caribbean is an absolutely beautiful looking, freeform RPG adventure. But it is really suited for experienced, patient gamers rather than casual ones.
|

They seem to be saying it gets a lower score than it otherwise would because it is not typical movie-license fodder - easy and dumbed-down, and because it actually presents a real challenge. Once upon a time, this would be reason for a higher score. GD ought to rename to Games Dumb-ain. |

seeing reviews, i think Bethesda shoud'v kept the original Sea Dogs name, as lots of ppl (and reviewers) are testing this game thinking of easy, disneyesque type of game...
unfortunately for them Pirates is really the sequel of Sea Dogs, and not a dumbled down consolish game.... and seeing this makes me..well.. happy |
