To become miner

Is there a way to enter in the miners of new field, that is those of the free mine?

Eventually, yes. But you can't get in until much later in the game.

Gotta wonder why the call it the 'free mine' when it's locked all the time.

I don't have idea of it, also after the mission of the brotherhood doesn't happen anything...
