They screwed up a little with the immortality flags. Most people become mortal after you don't need them anymore... some quest-critical folks, however, never were immortal in the first place while others stay immortal even though they're not needed anymore, like Stone and Jarvis for example.

I thought you could only steal of unnamed people.
Is it possible to get his sword without cheating?

I don't think it is possible. From my experience, I know that you cannot steal the things the target is wielding. But any other items are possible. However, I've never been able to steal from named character before.

I've never been able to steal anything before. The first time I played I had sneaking and lvl1 pickpocketing but still couldn't even steal from diggers. Is there some trick to doing it.

I think you cannot steal when your target is sitting.

But my target wasn't sitting. I tried to steal from about 15 diggers and got caught each time. In the end I just bashed them up.

Did you master pickpocketing? The trained skill has more chance of leading you to failure. Try to pick people one by one and be sure that nobody is around.

It takes 30 skill points to master pickpocketing and another 10 for sneak. Why does anyone even bothere getting it. I was wondering, do you need sneak to use pickpocketing. I never found a way to use it without sneak.

You have to go into sneak mode to pickpocket in Gothic.

For the diving into the sunken tower you should transform into lurker. You can then just teleport out......unless you want to transform and swim out again.

You don't need to change into a lurker. You can make it easily swimming normaly.
