Majika regen rate?

Question: How does majika regen work? I tried resting and that worked once, but it seems that no matter how much I rest now, I don't get any back. I think I'm missing something but not sure what it is. Any help on this would be great.

I've only just started playing so that would probably explain my ignorance on the subject, but it is frustrating as I am making a mage type character and now that I am out of majika, it makes casting spells somewhat difficult.

The only dumb question is the one that never gets asked.

I have been playing for a while now and need to know the same thing. So far all I do is buy restore magika potion. Gotta be a better way.

First off, if you're an Atronach sign you can't regen magicka no matter how much you rest...

Second off, 'waiting' doesn't restore magicka... it has to be 'rest'. So you can't do it within town borders.

Third off, I used the elder scrolls tools to put a 1 magicka per second regeneration time on the Apprentice and Mage birthsigns. It's still much faster to rest or chug mana restore potions, or to be an Atronach and absorb magic from magic using monsters (once you start running into them on a regular basis. Until then it's hell)... but in the early game, it helps a little for mages.

Forth off, if you don't have situation 1 or 2 going for you... I have no idea what's wrong. Sorry.

Thanks for the info

Ah ha, that would explain it then. Don't know why it did it once though (I rested and the majika filled up). Maybe its a timing thing like once a day or something. I didn't understand that the Atronarch sign wouldn't allow me to regen. How did you use the tools to add the majika regen? I haven't even looked at the tool yet, but that would probably help a bit.

Thanks again for the info.

On the comment of the Atronach gaining magicka once but never again.

This is completely assumption but if you search the skies at night, often you'll spot a constellation that is your birthsign. Days and times may play a more important role than we yet understand.

I wanted badly to be the Atronach but I couldn't deal with the stunted Magicka.

Good idea

I'll have to check that out about the Atronarch sign. Could make a difference - if sign is in the sky, it will provide magic regen. A possibility worth exploring anyway.
