Question Marks?
   

When steal from some of the characters, There will sometimes be question marks in their inventory. If I kill them, the question marks arn't there. For instance when I tried to steal the key from King Pog this happened. I eventually just decided not to steal it. Why is this?

As far as I know, items with a question mark are containers for special items, e.g. quest items. Normaly you should not be able to steal them, when the character is alive as it can break the quest it might give to you. If you kill that NPC, those items can be taken, as that NPC won't initiate a quest. However things in Arx do not alway work like that (take for example the idol bug).

no, if you kill them you still do not always get the ? items.

playing a thief would ruin the game to even see these items, eg. kill carlo and be shocked at his personal stash. (please save first)
