forge sword?

do I have to forge my weapon to finnish the game?Is there any benefit to forging a weapon if it is not needed to complete the game thanks

Do you mean forge your current weapon or learn the "forge weapon skill"?
You cant forge your current weapon.The only thing you can do with your current weapon is to sell it or bless it totally two times if you are a Paladin.
If you mean learning the skill I would suggest to do it only if you are a mercenary 'cause later you can learn to forge magic ore blades which are very high priced and powerfull.

Sword

In the end you have to learn how to forge a sword.. if you don`t you can`t beat the dragons..
if you become an apprentice with Harald the blacksmith, you get 100 gold pr sword.. that is 90 gold for you to spend..
easy way to earn some money..

WHat????As a Paladin I killed tha dragons with paladin magic.As a mage I am playing right now I suppose Ill kill them again with mages magic.As a mercenary/dragon hunter I dont know but I think you ll be able to kill them with a non-selfforged weapon.Correct me if I am wrong.

Short cut. You don't need to learn forging to make the dragon slayer swords, you get it from the almanac at the end and no lp needed either. Found out by accident. Never learned forging from Bennett. Read the almanac and there it was in my skill list.
