Glass vs Dark Brotherhood armour?

Glass vs Dark Brotherhood armour?
Which one is better and by how much?

I just started a new game with tribunal installed. First time I sleep, an assasin from the Dark Brotherhood jumps me. I kill him and take his armour. By the look of it, it was some serious armour, am I right?

DB armor is a lot better than Chitin, but only half as good as glass. It's also valuable. Wear the first set and sell the rest.

Dark Brotherhood Armor doesn't include a shield. The pieces that exist weigh a total of 16 lbs. Adding a Glass Shield or Tower Shield takes the total weight to 25 lbs. DB armor has an editor AR of 30, so a 100 Light Armor Skill will give an in-game AR of 100 (Glass Shield will actually improve that slightly).

Glass armor has an editor AR of 50, giving in-game 166, assuming 100 LA skill again. It weighs 54 lbs, including shield.

Both are excellent armors.

How did you do that calculation regarding armour?
I know that the better the skill, the better the value of the armour, but how do you know the original values of the armour?

Use the Editor (TES Construction Set) to look at the internal armor rating.

I don't know about you guys, but DB armor looks a lot better! It is good for the starters with Light Armor.

Chitin -> Dark Brotherhood -> Glass

Chitin is weak but cheap, Dark Brotherhood is much more powerful but you have to kill assassins to get it, and Glass is by far the most powerful but it costs a lot of cash.

However, Dark Brotherhood armour looks pretty mean!
