Well I drove past the Best Buy that has it on sale and slowed down a little, but its tough to buy a game that is being ravaged this much.

The impressions on this game are generated as usual by the vocal minority -
there are two separate issue: the game itself which Rend nicely critiqued and the hubbub on the boards about technical issues. Wait for the demo if you like to make an intelligence choice but don't base your judgement on what you've heard on the boards - most if not all is anecotal

cheers
and glory to all

A patch can solve most of the technical issues that have been addressed on the forums, but will a patch be able to overcome some of the serious design flaws? This game seems to have the musty odor of a bargain bin game. I only hope the this fiasco does not hurt the developement or sales other games in the Ubi Soft pipeline - like the next Warlords.

Has anyone had any good time with POR2?? Only bug I found was the lack of possibility to install the game elsewhere than drive C. I played BGI and BGII through, and tey are way better games. How ever, I like POR2, it is not as deep as the others, and has some annoying flaws, but I like playing it. Period. Am I alone?

As over all, everybody seems to SO BLACK AND WHITE(not the game), first huge hype, then huge disappointment. You guys torture you're selves on expecting NWN as it is savior, who says it is? It could be another POR2, same goes for Morrowind, nice pictures. Is that really enough for you to start expecting the game, WASSAAAAH?????. Hype the games you have some idea like Gothic

Most people dont like it because its not what everyone expected, its more of a dungeon romp than an RPG. Everyone thought it would be an RPG because of the setting, and the 3e rules, but they ended up taking out the stat choosing, the feat choosing, and made it simpler for a different crowd than the hardcore rpg crowd. People who want action instead of micro-management.
Anyway, as for how far I got, around 10 minutes into the game, I really disliked the timer in the turn based combat.

I'd really like to play this game...it seems really good. But after installing, I can't run the game. It freezes at the title screen. Like alot of people it seems, I have to wait for the patch. Too bad though, it was pretty expensive for a beta release(

You can turn the timer off, in the options menu.

I got it yesterdaqy only, because I wanted the Collector's Edition (costed me ~ 90 $!!!), but I like the game very much so far, but 'so far' is only tutorial and character creation - hade to trouble at all with it btw. One thing I like very much is the music - it is not overorchestrated, but synthesized and reminds me of good old times, *getting nostalgic*
And guess what, the CE holds a Soundtrack CD

The only thing good about this game is it's turned based.

There story isn't all the great (read the book and most of it is identical), graphics stink (aren't you tired of those same tileset dungeons?), gameplay stinks (all you do is kill things. Hardly any interaction with npcs etc.), sound is ok but the music is nothing memorable.

And we're not even getting into the technical issues.

Should have named this game Myth Drannor tactics. heh...
