Someone help me pls - this is probably a really simple prob. |
|
Hey all, im not a hardcore RPG player so im still geting to grips with some of the stuff in Morrowind.
My problem is that i have a level 11 Wood Elf Marksman, and i've just killed this necromancer blokey for the fighters guild but now it seems my strength attribute is always red. I though it might be disease or something so i tried all different potions, and tried going to a temple and using a shrine but to no avail. None of those little boxes above my stats (things like 50% magic resistance etc) give any inkling to what is wrong with me.
Its really annoying cos i cant hit S**T now and my marksman char is kinda useless. pls help.
One more thing, whats the best thing to use when those undead thingies over-encumber you so u cant move? It's really annoying and never seems to wear off .....
Thanks for reading and putting up with my newbieness.

Take off all things that boot your stats, then use the appropriate potion or a temple. They "buffs" seem to irritate healing. _________________ Rendelius

Generally this is cast by greater bonewalkers, and it doesnt show up as something in your little magic-effects bar. The way to cure it is to get a "restore strength" potion from a shop. The only problem that I have noticed is that if you have lost more str than the potion returns to you, it doesnt always work. So try to be careful around bonewalkers, use lots of quiksaves, and if you get into too much trouble, try again from another angle.
The over-burdening can come from a couple things...first, if they actually cast a "burden" spell on you, you're carry-weight goes up by a certain amount. You'll see a little purple icon in the bottom right of your screen or above your spells on the inv screen. This will usually go away pretty quickly, but if you really need to move, carry around a potion of feather which has the opposite effect of burden. Now, the other way it could happen is if the undead drains your str a-la noted above. Instead of bringing up your carry-weight, this will lower your max carry-weight. If you are close to your max and lose some str, you're gonna be overburdened. The only way to fix this is to drink feather potions (or cast the spell), drop some of your stuff, or drink restore str potions. This can get really annoying in the middle of a fight, so even if you dont need to carry around any other restore attribute potions, carry restore str.
good luck, happy hunting!

I had the same problem. I went to the town, Peligaid, and went to the altar and gave a donation. There was an option for restore attributes. Once I clicked on it, it restored all of my stats that were red back to their original values. Hope this helps!!!! |
