Hiring Jack as a Captain of the Ship

I did everything right. Talked to Jack, talked to Brian ant told him to go to lighthouse. Talked to Jack again and than talked to Brian (who is now in the lighthouse). Brian tells me that Jack won't recognize the place when he's done with it and after that Jack refuses to be my captain. Where did i go wrong? HELP anyone?

Hmm, I searched the topics but didn't get a success. Try Jorgen? He is in the monastery. To take him as captain of your ship, you should talkt to Pyrokar ,get the quest and simply kill the daemons in Xardas' Tower.

if he refuses to be your captain it's because you already recruited a captain (either Jorgen, orTorlof)
