The official launch date for Lineage II will be April 28.

Players still have time to sign up for the open beta and participate in several challenges and contests created just for the beta test. Free gaming systems, gift certificates, LCD monitors and video cards are among the prizes to be given away. Those who participate in the beta test will not have their characters deleted when the game hits its commercial launch date later this month. This sounds odd. I'm still waiting for my beta key to arrive so I haven't played the game yet but as far as I can tell there are still major issues to be solved. I can't believe they are going to ship the game as it is. Guess they havn't paid attention to the buggy SWG and Anarchy Online releases. _________________ "You'll never see me coming..."

Forget CoH/Lineage 2 and go get World of Warcraft. That's probably the only not-buggy-on-release MMORPG coming out in the near future, unless DAoC 2 is announced... _________________ The world is small, nasty and complicated, and everybody dies alone... - Sam Fisher |

I got a cdkey for this one 2 weeks ago, when i logged on and was trying todo a very brief tutorial on how to walk and stuff someone actually ganked me lol. Appearantly someone thought that having the starterarea setup as a pvp zone was a good idea. Guess that was still a bug. In the city you couldnt get attacked so i went on there but just outside the city its pvp again.. prepare to be killed alot by guys named xxxxxxKilzzYoxxxxx I played together with a friend who was unable to talk to the npc's, his default action was fighting so it was kinda funny to see him smack all the npc's we were supposed to get quests from. We started hunting in a field outside the city where you could see endless waves of fellow orcs trying to find a spawn to kill as well. i couldnt sit to heal up and needed to relog for it to happen. At that point i figured i ended up in an alpha technical preview or something and decided to delete it again. Surely i cant be accused of having much patience but if this thing goes live in two weeks then they either opened up a can of programmers in Korea or indeed it will be a buggy launch.
btw.. Hi good folks and community of rpgdot. Ive been following this site and reading the news for over a year now so i figured i join in |

I have a level 15 dwarf I've been playing for a couple of weeks. The game is actually pretty good, but my problem is it has that 'been there, done that' feeling to it' and it's basically not a huge departure from other MMORPG's imo. But it's definitely polished, balanced, the graphics are nice and it is fun, it's just not spectacular. I'm hoping World of Warcraft will be a little more revolutionary, because these MMORPGs are all basically the same. |

I have also been playing Lineage 2 for a few weeks now. I have managed to level an orc mage to lvl 15 in this time and run around a bit to check out the mainlands and other player race cities. Its got breathtaking scenery and wonderful immersive sound effects/music. however other than the next generation looks/effects it doesnt appear to be offering anything radical in game play styles or character development. Im sure it will have a market out there but for me its just a short stopgap ( i hope) to WoW or EQ2. What im really after is somthing to immerse me in adventure at atmosphere. |

I dont know much about WoW, but Lineage2 is a really good game. I have a level 16th warrior, he is awesome, and i fight off spiders and stuff. But i havent really been ganked all that much. It happens mostly at the earlier levels when you are weak, but after you are strong nobody hardly messes with you, and which server you play on makes a HELL of a difference. I play on Kain and that is an AWESOME server with really cool people. Lineage2 is a great game, and im picky, so that says a lot. Not as great as Darkfall will be or World of Warcraft will be, but still its a decent game in its own right. I have played for three weeks now. |
