EQ: Legacy of Ykesha - Review @ Gamers.com

There's a very short review of EQ's latest expansion, The Legacy of Ykesha, to be read over at gamers.com. The expansion is downloadable for $21.99 and introduces a few new features like the Froglok race, five new zones and new spells. The author of the article wasn't all that positive about it, though, giving the add-on a 5 out of 10:

Some of the other additions include five new zones and new spells for high-level players, a Looking For Group tool, a new inventory slot for charms--but as I think about these and everything else here, I just can't help but wonder: Why wasn't this a free download?

How many expansions for EQ were free?SOE is not going to give anything away if it can make a buck on it.Anyone who wonders why it was not a free download has got to be pretty niave and has certainly not been around this business for very long.

Well, I always thought that the monthly fee for mmorpg's was also meant to pay for improvements and patches. Of course the whole discussion is where to draw the line between expansion and patch, right?
Anyway, Mythic Entertainment did Foundations for free, didn't they?
