Go to the upper level and jump over to the platform where you came from. The ladders wont help you.

I entered from the guarded tunnel that led to the double ladder - is there another exit? Or how do I jump back to the ledge above the rwo ladders? I've been in that cave long enough to glow!

hhahah, this trick got me every damn time
at first i just kept trying and trying again and eventually got up, then i figured out if u spam action+up (jump) whne u reach the top of the ladder he does this little weird jump thing (looks kinda screwed up coz he goes flying forwards and upwards a little bit)
then i found the diggers platform
