a spell question plz

ok, im not trying to start any flame wars, because i have never had a character that used real spells OR enchant. but, it seems to me, that if you were a enchanter, and using enchanted items increases your enchant skill no matter what school of magic is the item's charge, then why even use destruction, illusion, alteration, etc when you could just enchant a bunch of rings and use them like spells, with the same effect? at least that is how i understand how it works, though i think i missed something, so thats why im asking =]

Because... it would be impractical. If you were a poor mage, you wouldn't have any soul gems or good items to enchant, or for that matter, any items to use, at all. Plus, think of your encumberment.

well, yes, but how would you KILL them?

Not much of an enchanter if your swinging a broadsword IMHO.
