Diablo 2: Patch 1.10 Review

Gameshark has posted a review/a> of the changes that patch 1.10 brings to Diablo 2:
My profile is probably no different from other experienced D2 players. I have been playing D2 online for 3 years. For me, the excitement of questing has long ago been replaced by a passion for honing my high level ladder characters and the fun of interacting with a community of experienced players who are doing the same. It took me nearly a year of obsessive game play to find sufficient number of "godly" gears in order to begin building "ladder worthy" characters. It took another 2 years of trial and error before I finally created a portfolio of ladder characters that I could be proud of: 3 classic characters in the mid 90's and a two level 99 LOD characters.

He describes it more as a "job" to build up characters as oppossed to something that,in my mind, should be fun to do.

hehe, well if you've been playing the same game over and like he has for 4 years, I think it would get to feel like more of a job. I liked Diablo II alot, but Im amazed at how many people still play it so regularly, killing diablo 1000 times over to try and find the item that lets you kill him a few seconds faster.

I know what you mean.I liked it as well but I think some people, not only peeps that play Diablo II, become almost fanatical in theit persuit of the "best" armor, weapon, etc.I'm beta testin a couple of games right now and even though their chars will be wiped for pay to play, some are over-doing things in the extreme.
