Iron Man Morrowind?

I am just wondering how many of you are playing "Iron Man Morrowind". This style of play reckognizes that dead means dead, and doesn't reload a save game but for technical reasons like CTD's.

There are so many ways to get out of lethal situations (scrolls, recall) that dying hardly occurs (it can happen, but normally it shouldn't).

Finishing the game that way would be very rewarding, don't you think?

That would be fun indeed, i tried it in the past with BG but in that game it's only frustrating because of the amount of encounters with ubermages who instantly kill you

But when you die in the game, you actually restart?? Or do you permit yourself a save-game so you don't have to make a new character all over again?

I say it would be self-destructive.

I'm a true rpg fan, but I reload most of the times and for a very simple reason: it is a game. Wait, before attacking me consider this: if MW was a pen and paper rpg or if I was REALLY 100% immersed in the game I would not reaload.
But you know, sometimes you do something stupid or without thinking to much about it... This because I do not feel like I'm truly immersed. And also because there are bugs in the games and situations in which if i was playing a p&p rpg I would know how to get out from: sometimes I get stuck with the objects (and if I was that guy I would get out of those situations quickly) or I would do something that the game engine doesn't allow me to do (such as pushing enemies in the lava)

RELOAD GUYS, RELOAD...

Thats something I might try on a second round with this game, but currently I am too attached to my character to let him die, and he died a few times. I try hard not to reload because of anything "sub-lethal", except if it happened because I misunderstood something in the manual or in the game mechanics (e.g. I reloaded when I was attacked after clicking on an item in a shop the first time - i thought it was ok to take things as long as I put them back before I leave).

Iron Man games aren't my style. Too much stress put on not dying instead of having FUN!!!
I'd rather do something that I know is really really stupid and will probably get me killed just to see if I CAN do it. Because its all the more satisfying when you actually pull something incredible off!
You can't do any of that in Iron Man games....

Iron Man is something you do ONLY after you have played a game to exhaustion. Iron Man is a way to add challenge after there are no more secrets to discover.

I am playing "Iron Man Morrowind" - and it's a lot easier than Iron Man Wizardry 8. The last time i died was at level 4. i am now at level 42 and i am not using trainers anymore. to keep up the challenge i am trying to restrict myself a little bit, i am not using daedric weapons/armor, i don't steal if it is not necessary for a quest.

I wouldn't last 2 seconds as an "Iron man Morrowinder" because every time I go diving for pearls I end up getting stuck in a seaweed bundle. That means I drown to death almost every time I dive. It would be neat if it wasn't obvious it is a bug.. (I get stuck the same way underneath planks, among rocks, near floating barrels, once in a staircase in a sunken ship..)

Strange, I never got stuck once and I dive a lot. You really seem to draw "bugs" to your person, man.

Mattias:

When i am getting stucked i

a) teleport away
b) under water -> i have a belt enchanted with constant water breathing -> in most situations i can find my way out.

I like to push the game till it cracks and see its limits - my favourite key is "quickload"

P.S. is it me or are the Bonelords real pushovers? I had to fire up the Construction Set and gave 'em 2x hps and 3x damage. Now that's a boneLORD!

As I played the press demo of Morrowind, I can tell you that getting stuck in something was present there. But I really don't think that I got stuck in the release version again. At least I never drowned whilst pearl diving, nor did I get stuck on furniture as it happened in the pre-release version.

I get stuck everywhere. Behind rocks, behind carpets hanging from walls, behind chests, behind those odd bell racks that can be found in sleeper dungeons. Of course, I explore everything very thoroughly, even if it means climbing on furniture and jumping into small holes behind stuff. And I can assure you that they didn't sell me a pre-release version. Even though I was in the pre-order line

I've gotten stuck a few times, mostly on stairways, it seems. I used to try to get un-stuck by jumping and running in all directions, which sometimes worked. Often, though, I had to reload a quicksave to get out of it.

But that was before I discovered the console command fixme, which appears to have been included precisely for those times when you do get stuck. I've read that it moves you 128 pixels in a random direction, which should get you un-stuck. It's worked for me every time.

My fav glue-on place are flags and such moving objects. It seems if you jump on one, you're perma stuck. And sometimes it takes few fixmes as they tend to put me into walls and such.
