Ultima 5 Lazarus - Talking Point #10

The <a href="http://www.u5lazarus.com/" target="_blank">Lazarus</A> team continues to tease us with their tenth <a href="http://www.u5lazarus.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2414" target="_blank">Talking Point!</A> Britton "Trynian" Gregory gives us a peek at some of the tools they created to assist them in Lazarus' construction. Here's a snip:
<br><blockquote><em>
Working on and with the Lazarus tools was an eye-opening experience for me. Not being completely familiar with the games industry, I hadn't fully grasped the amount of infrastructure that a game requires. When I think "creating software" I think "sitting down at your development environment, writing code, and screaming at the compiler when it gives you obscure error messages". Games, however, are a different beast altogether, combining visual arts, world-building, sounds, literature, software code, and more in such a way as to absolutely necessitate intermediate tools to aid in fitting the pieces together. In my experience, working on the tools has been nearly as rewarding as working on the end-user portions of the game; in the end, it's about making my colleagues' lives easier, and that always gives me a warm fuzzy.
</em></blockquote>

I'll check that out cause I've been waiting for this for years. I'm really excited about this project. Val, hope you're planning a big news spread or something, we need to advertise this as much as possible!!

Yup, the official U5 lazarus web site has been updated with the news. So from Sept 23 2000 (when project started) to Dec 22, 2005, 5 years & 3 months in the making! It's gonna be a great Christmas!!

Oo, I better post that date then.

@corwin: I'm a tad strapped for time (finals) but I'm trying to get something rolling.
