Local Map Issue

My World Map shows up fine but the local map is ALWAYS black with a cursor in the middle. I have no other video related issues. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had the same problem when I had the NVidia Riva TNT2. It went away when I installed the ATi Radeon 8500 128MB DDR (yes, I'm repeating myself, I know you all know I got this, but hey, I'm so, so SO diggin this card!!)

Actually I have had this problem somewhat once. Except in my case, the game just refused to map this one area I was in. I could map all the way around it, but no where inside it would it map it. I think its just a bug.

I had a similar experience as Mr207 in the Caldera Mining area. I could get the area surrounding the Caldera mine to map, but the mining area itself was solid black. I dunno why. Haven't had this happen anywhere else yet.
