OK, I have bought summon golem and summon skeleton from xarxas. Im attempting to become a mage and have circle 5 in magic.

However the skeletons I summon appear to be really dumb and stand around watching whilst I get battered in the temple. How do you make them attack things ? Is there a way of controlling them ? The golem works a little better.

I have found that if an enemy is nearby, usually the skeletons will attack it if you get close enough. However this does not always work. Something I found that works is if you fire arrows at the enemy, the skeletons will go attack it.
