Magic?

When you hit the "B" button to see your stats (like how much more experience you need to level and how much strength you have and such) it also says you have learned acrobatics and things. But by where it says Magic, it says NO, but i can still cast spells....At the moment i am a Templar but just started Chapter 4 and would like to try to learn more magic..who can i see about learning Magic and raising my Circles? if anyone have any information that would be great...Thanks again

Talk to the Baal who is teaching the novices under the Templar training roof.

Without circles you can only use scrolls. Templars are limited to circle 4.

The scrolls disappear after each use. But runes will never disappear, no matter how many time you use them. That's a benefit of learning magic circles.

Do you go right? Or do you go left? A simple decision, yes? No ambiguities. Only the dream of the path not taken! And so one might stand in this place and contemplate for a long while. What will I miss if I go left? What will I lose if I go right? And in my indecision, have I chosen a worse fate?

I think it's Baal Cadar. If he doesn't talk to you, use a sleep scroll spell on one of his novices.

Yes, in Gothic, any Joe Schmoe can use magic scrolls. In fact there are more spells on scrolls than runes, and they're pretty common too. You'll come across them on the floor, in chests, with mages and traders etc.

Since you're already a templar, you might want to concentrate more on your strength and dexterity. Runic spells from Circle 1 through 3 are useless and wimpy. Only Circle 4 and 5 spells are worthwhile. But you'll have to spend a whole lot of skill points getting to those levels and increasing your mana.

With the best two handed sword and best crossbow, you're truly a power to be dealt with.
