Eschalon: Book 1 - New Screens

Basilisk Games dropped us a line to say they have released three pre-beta screens of their indie old-school RPG, Eschalon: Book 1, which we revealed last week. You can check them out at their <a href="http://basiliskgames.com/" target="_blank">site</a> or we have loaded them into our Gallery for your convenience: <br> <br><table cellpadding="1" align="center"><tr><td width="200"><a href="http://newspics.rpgdot.com/imageview.php?dir=gallery/1359/Screenshots/&name=EB1 Screen 3 Pre-Beta.jpg" target="ImageView"><img src="http://newspics.rpgdot.com/gallery/1359/Screenshots/tn_EB1 Screen 3 Pre-Beta.jpg" border=0 alt="Display full image"></a></td><td><a href="http://newspics.rpgdot.com/imageview.php?dir=gallery/1359/Screenshots/&name=EB1 Screen 1 Pre-Beta.jpg" target="ImageView"><img src="http://newspics.rpgdot.com/gallery/1359/Screenshots/tn_EB1 Screen 1 Pre-Beta.jpg" border=0 alt="Display full image"></a></td><td><a href="http://newspics.rpgdot.com/imageview.php?dir=gallery/1359/Screenshots/&name=EB1 Screen 2 Pre-Beta.jpg" target="ImageView"><img src="http://newspics.rpgdot.com/gallery/1359/Screenshots/tn_EB1 Screen 2 Pre-Beta.jpg" border=0 alt="Display full image"></a></td></tr></table>

Looks very nice. Old school graphics but nice and crisp and colorful. I like the descriptive text that goes with the adventuring.

We could all use something fresh. I'll definately try this one!

This does look very nice. At last, something to look forward to! Aside from Gothic 3, which probably won't run on my machine.

Stat screen looks promising for character development options. The descriptive text is indeed a nice feature and it appears to be written by someone who refuses to end a sentence with a preposition. I'm sold!

I'm sold too, especially on the turn-based part. Turn-based is like the burning leper of crpg's these days.

To anyone whos likes old old school (think 1986) and turn-based, I seriously recommend Helherron:

This little indy is freeware now.
