Getting to the end now, I expect the 'Gold' announcement any day now. They are doing the final art patch today. It's a whopper. Once they announce gold I'd imagine the NDA will come down.
Looks like they really are gonna try and push it out the door by the end of the month.
Lets just hope they find some of IBM's magic server pixie dust.
Things have improved a bit the last few days, but there are still some huge bugs, way outta whack balance stuff, and unfinished professions.
One thing I can say for sure though (which should be a bit of relief to everyone), it will not be as bad as AO's launch as some thought it would be if they tried to get it out by end of June (heck even I thought it would be). |

I GOT INTO BETA !!! Some stranger guy gave me his buddy key!
I havent played yet though bcuz of [edit]. Aside from that, everything looks freakin [edit] especially the [edit] and [edit] ... Curse this darn NDA ...
anyway, to answer your question shrap. dont worry man. as soon as everybody here (3 of us?) that wants to be in this guild gets online in SWG, we will all post our character names here and then hook up together in game.
i think we agreed that it will be on the western Intrepid server, if memory serves me correctly. right now i am waiting for the damn [edit] to [edit] so that i can play! i've waited for [edit] freakin hours now.
at least one of us will have a head start in the game, anyway. i can teach you guys the ropes come release, in-game mostly of course. and guys, we have like 5+ years to do this guild thing, so at first we will all chill in the game and have as much fun as possible. we can start the guild later on when we all feel comfortable. there is plenty to do in the meantime. and if its okey with you guys, i can be the guildmaster in the beginning. after that its all up to the votes. i dont wanna be guildmaster forever so that suits me fine. in case you dont know yet, according to the SWG public website, guilds leaders get chosen by guildmembers like a democracy, so sooner or later i would be kicked out of office in favor of somebody else, which is fine with me, since i would rather be out adventuring anyway instead of doing all that boring guild administration crap, heh.
so, hopefully, tomorrow morning i will be in the game. i've waited 2 years for tomorrow. i cant even sleep and its nearly midnight. i have a feeling that i will be forced to play morrowind most of tonight bcuz i cant sleep i am so freakin excited! |

hmmm....
***** HATING YOU *****
ok, done...congrats!!
you lucky bastard!!
As for being leader, congrats(again), you're it...I was a monarch in AC for a couple of years...very gratifying (at first) to see all your lil followers' faces light up when you come back to base like santa with a bag full of goodies for em...but then 'things' start to occur...Politics, for one, meetings, webpages, administration...all that comes into play as fun is walking out the door...then they wanna go hunting with you...how many times can you explain to level 14 vassal that he wont survive against level 90+ stuff you hunt. And the way I hunt, I love to power-level...taking on stuff way over my head. If you die, you die...but you have to have the knack to get back on that horse by yourself and try it again, maybe from a diff angle...some (well most) dont play like that. Most games I usually find one or two people fool minded like me that have the same mentality, and we just get uber and collect many sparklies along the way (half is usually sold or handed out to the young'ens).
But more importantly, you'll have more exp than any of us going into retail, so please, for me: LIVE in that BETA. Drink coffee, take coke, smoke crack, just dont log out!...ever...until the game goes gold |

Ammon, the patch will pick up where it left off if the patcher gets disconnected. In fact you can restart it once in a while and it will fix the time. I started the patch yesterday and it told me something like 80 hours, but I restarted it a couple times manually and it reduced the time significantly. I just let it run over last night and was able to get in again this morning.
Unfortunately, this was a bad patch. Broke a lot of things having to do with crafting, but you shouldn't notice them just starting off.
Good luck. |

Crap....go out of town for a couple days and everything changes around here.
Ammon, congrats on getting your buddy key. I saw that post on the SWG boards where the guy invited you to have it. I was so friggin' jealous! You lucky freak!! Also, congrats on being elected (by 2/3s majority, since there's 3 of us and you and shrap voted already...not that I would NOT have voted for you...lol) our guildmaster.
I agree with you, too, that the first several days should be spent by each of us (especially shrap and myself) learning the gameplay aspects. I will make several chars and develop them minimally just to get that initial 'feel' for the game. After that time, we should be ready to discuss on here what role each of us want to play in such a small guild. I think we could really get a good 3 man team going. Enough to take out large animals, and from what I've read, that's where the good exp is... HUNTING PARTIES!!!! We'll need all 3 of us to be able to handle a weapon, one medic, and perhaps a scout type char. I also plan on dabbling in engineering (droids) but may opt out of that for the good of the PA.
Please, don't be skimpy with beta news. I know you're limited by the NDA, but you are NOT limited to give us your opinions of the release date. You can tell us there's big bugs or not, just no specifics. Yes, I know, you're not supposed to say ANYTHING, but at this point, I don't think they care!
Shrap, I have already pre ordered. You can't go wrong doing it, and this way you're (virtually) guaranteed a copy at release.

umm since i dont want it to be too obvious that its me, i am posting this under my name, Homey In Da Game !!! (please dont tell them its me) and dont log this IP address please LOL...
Ive played a certain game for two days, and let me tell you, its FREAKIN H.U.G.E. and the graphics are SWEET !!! I have NEVER seen something of this magnitude in both size and content insomuch that it is incredibly humbling knowing that in its world, my character is basically nothing in a VAST sea of somethings. As for release date, there isnt all that many bugs, and the game looks just about done from my perspective. But believe me, i have played 2 days and have only seen about 0.1 % of everything there is to see. There is a LOT to see. You could play this game for 2 years and only see 50% of everything. You can LIVE in this game. Thats what ive been doing. I forgot to shower for TWO DAYS !!! I have only eaten about 2 or 3 times !!! I even slept through church !!! Out of 48 hours, i have been logged ingame for nearly 32 hours !!!
Trust me, its gonna take us a while just to get comfortable and get our gears going. Although i am an extremely fast learner, it took me an hour to just learn the freakin interface. And money means a lot. You can count on a lot of us being artisans sooner or later. Without money, its a cruel world. Thats just about all i can say without blatantly breaking the NDA.
Point is, you are gonna love this game. It rocks. |

the game is also slightly buggy. it might not be a good thing to release it yet unless they really crack down on the bugs. |

Thanks for the post, amm...urhh.. Homey. Glad to know that it's living up to most of the hype! Now I REALLY can't wait to get my grubby little mitts on the game...
I'll have to do something nice for the wife, though. She seems to know that once the game comes out, I'll be immersed in my PC! _________________ Member of the "Fantastic ONE"

Dishes??? Garbage??? These things you speak of..they're foreign to me!!
Seriously, I figure it's better to start ignoring her now....because if I shower her with gifts/attention/nice things, won't she just expect that all to continue when SWG gets here? I'd hate to put her through withdrawl. She'll be alright. She knew I was an avid gamer when she married me!! She just worries that I won't study enough to get good grades (and, by looking at last semester's transcripts, she may be right...). Hopefully I can get my mind together enough to do real life economics AND SWG economics!!!!! _________________ Member of the "Fantastic ONE"

I just realized that SWG is the only game in this forum with more than 1 page of replies. And we're pretty close to TEN pages!
What do you guys think the Friday feature will be over at SWG forums? Release date? Patch notes? Beta stories??
Where have you all gone? I figure Ammon is buried in his beta now, the lucky SOB... _________________ Member of the "Fantastic ONE"
