Chapter 2 VoM castle - How do I get in?

I've ran around this castle a million times with orcs on my tail the whole way, when I go up to the gate they all just ignore me inside! How do I get in?

on the back of the castle there is a war machine with a pole running up to the castle wall where there is a ledge you can stand on then jump up to the wall and climb in the castle. also you might want to figure a way out to kill the orcs or cmarvinc them because there is about 30kxp there
