No, Scribbles, you misunderstand me. I am using the mouse button INSTEAD of the control key. This means I still have to hold mouse 1 and foward down to pick stuff up and talk to people, and I can still to side to side swings and block with my weapon.

I use mouse too. Actually its better to play with mouse, because you can control the speed of movement. Its also more accurate and its better (faster) for looking arround. I use mouse mostly because Im used to from other games (like gta3, half life,...).

Okay, I'll try. Maybe you can teach an old dog new tricks!

Thanks!

Controls

I set up the controls to use mouse for fighting and looking around too. It was much easier I thought. Just write the settings down you select for each thing and do like I did and tape it to edge of screen for a day or so. Then it comes naturally after that.

About the picking stuff

Well, i think you werent able to pick stuff up coz you were in a fighting mode (Your weapon is in your hand, or you can hit with your hands) Idf you are in fighting mode you cant pick anything and you cant talk to anyone...
The only way you can talk with a weapon in your hand is the way of "Hard talk"

You know you actually can pull out your weapon while talking. Immediately after selecting a line to speak, press the key to take out your weapon.

What do you put in for the mouse control? Just say Left Mouse or Right Mouse? That's what I'm used to with Diablo, Dungeon Seige and Morrowind, so it'd be cool to set it up the same.

As far as picking things up in fight mode or when holding a weapon, I haven't gotten that far. Just started the game on Sunday and got stuck almost immediately.

Thanks for all the help, everyone! You all are soooo helpful. What a neat forum.

i see what you guys are saying. im just used to using one hand for most of my controls. i still use the mouse as a directional and movement tool, but i found fighting easier with what i said before

wow, i believe this sparked up a conversation that had yet to be seen on the RPGDot forums. bravo! (i mean the use of mouse vs keys)
