Sound Issues - ATI Radeon 9700 PRO |
|
Does anyone know if there is a known compability problems with the ATI Radeon Series (9700 PRO)? I have done the upgrades........i.e. patch 1.5, sound card, and video card. However, I am still getting the silent treatment on some of the cut scenes, and crashes when I visit the King (after the first quest) for new quests. Any suggestion would be much apprieciated. _________________ Enjoy life.........you not going to make it out alive. |

I'm sorry, should have said that I did install the EAX Unified, and EAX is selected in the Audio options, but I still get the silent treatment on some of the cutscenes, and the crashes to the desktop when I see the king for more quest. I have an older computer that has a gforce card, and it played the cutscenes fine and no crashes when I visit the king. However, that computer is very jerky when I play. _________________ Enjoy life.........you not going to make it out alive. |

Even with EAX there are times where it's ahrder to hear then oters... I'm mostly thinking of Greu which I usually can't hear. Enable subtitles for those and read them instead... Without the EAX update I couldn't hear stuff which WASN'T subtitled that was quite annoying... |

I don't know if this helps but I just set up my new computer last night and loaded Arx. It has the Radeon 9700 Pro and I had the same problem with the cut scenes. I also couldn't hear some NPCs unless I turned around a little bit. On my old computer, I didn't have these problems. I checked the Creative Labs set up and changed the speaker configuration to a 4 speaker setup instead of the 6 speaker 5.1 setup and everything seems to be okay now. |

Cool. Thanks I will try that. I don't know if that will fix the problems with it crashing when I see the king for the second and third quest.......But that will be something. _________________ Enjoy life.........you not going to make it out alive. |
