Iron Man games aren't my style. Too much stress put on not dying instead of having FUN!!!
I'd rather do something that I know is really really stupid and will probably get me killed just to see if I CAN do it. Because its all the more satisfying when you actually pull something incredible off!
You can't do any of that in Iron Man games....
The stress is put on living, not dying Calculated risks are much more rewarding when you realise your decision might be your last. I find it brings you much closer to full immersion when you have to stop and think, if i do this, will i die? i even find that some of my real life phobias come through to the game experience. there is an area where i fell into the water and had to swim underwater through a passage. I had no idea if i would make it as i had no potions of water breathing left. it was one of the scariest moments i have had in this game. my best death to date involved being underwater too. i was fighting off fish while trying to untrap a chest. i forgot about the trap and rushed to get the loot before i ran out of air and blew myself up. there is enough variation in the people you can meet and the places you join that you can rotate choices enough so that things don't become stale if you do restart a character. I don't delete them either. i keep them for posterity, although i don't play them again.
