I am also playing a Battlemage but have noticed it is going to be very hard keeping up with the primary Quest with the " BLADES " to advance in ranks
i must excel in ( speechcraft , marksman , light armor , sneak , restoration and long blade ) each or which I dont have Minor or Major skills , except for Marksman " minor skill " but i dont use a Bow hmm , i guess it is going to be a very long game.
I've joined the Mages guild and the fighters guild and have ranked faily high in both but I still haven't ranked but once in the blades and am very far off to the next rank.anyone else in this situation ? |

The fighter/thief/mage guilds are meant to be rather speedy in the beginning, as they are what you are asked to join to get some experience under your belt before you start your work for the Blades. |

I am trying to play a ranger type guy, but no RPG so far, Morrowind included, ever lets me do it. All the quests are dungeon crawls or errands, no wilderness hunting. |

Are you kidding? You can play all day just hunting around the wilderness, gather some ingredients and mix a little medicine for yourself, and sleep on a hillside. There's not a lot of Ranger - type quests I guess, although I've found some, but you can sure hunt around a lot - I get distracted and do it all the time.
