I've joined NC straight away in order to become a water mage. Now it's Chap3 and im Merc(since long time). Finished quests in Sect camp and reported back to Water Mages, but when i ask whether i can be accepted as water mage, they say no

Should i find all the Focus'es for them first ?

......

and one more thing, when does that Xardas' demon appears ? in which chapter or after what event?
