We need a mod-site that has RATINGS badly!

I'm no web-whiz, or I'd set this up myself.

Allow people to vote on the quality of a Mod, rate it from 1-10.

Along with all the wonderful mods that are going to be coming out, there will be hundreds of REALLY bad mods as well. Picking out the gems from the masses of shoddy mods will be difficult at best. And the people who do really great work on a mod DESERVE to have their work recognized by having tons of people using their stuff.

Ideal would be a website which allowed people to vote and comment on each mod. Voting would be best, but if you're no database whiz, at least a comment section so people can read other's experiences and judge for themselves if a mod is worth downloading.

Happy modding all.

Well, because your wish is most important for us, I will remind Rendelius about this post and we will see what we can do with it.
- add rating page to every mod in our Plugin Depot???
- let all users to post replies, but no to post new topics in Plugin Depot???

We will see

Danicek pointed me to this thread. I am no database wiz myself, this would be Myrthos then - but I thik we could just add polls to the newsbits and let you rate them. I'll try this now, and if it works, this could be the solution.

Stay tuned .-).

Ok, this works. I added a poll to the latest plugin, and from now on we will have a poll with every plugin we add (and working our way back through the database).

However, the poll option is for registered users only, but hey, there must be a benefit for those who register

I will step by step add rate option to all plugins. Except "new races" which are in one long thread.
It will take some time to edit all those posts, so be patient.

I'd like to point out that we are also in the process of setting up a catagorized Mod systems, where users can rate and submit mods.
The site's in Dutch, but we'll not translate the Mods names and readme's.
I expect the new mod system to go up around the end of the weekend.

[Anyone here from morrowind-mods?]
Try www.Postnuke.com,

Sounds like it could fit the bill - just worry about your bandwidth usage!
I use the script on my site at http://www.e-porthcawl.co.uk ,
for a good demo of download/ratings look at http://www.postnuke.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index

If anyone wants to set this up, good luck! Any help I can offer - james@porthcawlmail.co.uk

I noticed that the plugin depot has the ratings system ready to go which is great I only have two mods but l love 'em both. I dont seem to be able to find a tab to click on to actually rate them though.

I know the mod said it would take a bit to edit all the posts and get them ready...am I missing something or just being impatient?

Sorry to nitpick but one of my favorite of the early crop of plug ins: "titatanim armor and dealer" only goes to 4. I would like to give this well balanced and pretty cool mod a 5.

You must be patient. We had problems with disappearing options from polls (ratings). It completly ruined my work.
Myrthos solved this bug in PHPBB code and now I must do same thing again.
