BioWare: Site Update

In what I assume is part of the lead-up to E3, BioWare has added two new games to their 'In Development' list (under 'BioWare Games' on the menu). 'New Project - PC' and 'New Project - Console' are now listed...not much else to say really.

I remember reading that they were developing a new RPG using their own system and world. Is that the PC version or console?

I hope that it includes fairy princesses as a playable race and beautiful poneys that I can ride. I also hope the game is not too harsh on new players, or has too steep of a learning curve. Being a princess and riding poneys is fun, having to think is no fun. I also hope the combat is action-oriented and there are a millions of enemies and I can fight them all at once and live. And then I can pick up all the pretty equipment for hours and hours. That way I can look at the clevage of the character that I play over and over when she bends down to pick up all the pretty loot.. Weeeeeeee.

You should try to get a job as a game designer, Roqua.

Pretty cleavage...

I would but I do not believe the gaming world is ready for beautiful ponys at this stage. And rpgs are for dorks. Is pony spelled poney or pony? I think Poney were those sneakers that were popular when I was a kid. But they both look right. Hhhmmm. I would have to sit up to reach the dictionary so I guess I'll never know. I should keep a donut in the dictionary to motivate me to reach for it.

Well, back to crappy homework.

Whatever the PC title is, I hope it has a deeper character development system than the limited d20 system seen in KoTOR. Something outside of the d20 system, such as a GURPS or Rolemaster like system would allow for some considerably more interesting character development (in the case of GURPS, through advantages/disadvantages, contacts, and a meaningful skill system) that doesnt get broken once one reaches and passes the mid levels. Another system would be nice if only to break the mold and give players something new and interesting to play. I mean, call Microsoft, get them to let you make a Shadowrun CRPG - come on, stop beating the DnD horse. Furthermore, stricter adherence by Bioware to earthly level limits (instead of time and again allowing players to become uber high level) and better implentation of the DnD 3.0 ruleset (should they choose to go with that...again) would certainly be very welcome (TB please, ToEE, though lacking in some ways, certainly proved with authority that TB both can be briskly paced and is considerably more interesting than mind numbing rt/pause - the weakest aspect of KoTOR was it's combat).
