No mouse pointer?

I've just installed Gothic, but when I run the program, my mouse pointer disappears. I've checked the settings, and the mouse setting is "On". Any suggestions?

You don't see the mouse while playing the game. You use the mouse to turn, then I think the lmb does the same action as 'ctrl' and the rmb does the same action as 'alt'. Hope this helps.

The mouse pointer is indirect. When you focus at an item/NPC it/he is highlighted and can be manipulated.
