hmm yeh i recommend doing all the easy quests in the camps then just using a slightly trained bow or 1 handed sword until ur magic is gd enough but yur really kinda ruining the game asking for all this help and advice and guides it takes all the fun away from working out how to do everything yourself personally i complete game 4 times i never use guide oh by the way good choich mage is by a long way the funnest charecter

When you're playing without the addon, there's isn't much you can do wrong. You'll get plenty of learning points to spend. Just notice that all fighting skills and strength and dexterity become twice as expensive to learn as soon as you become a novice.

Indeed, so basically there NO need to hurry to get joined with some guild right away. You can get to level 18 in CH1 easily, WITHOUT even joining any guild, simply clear out the whole world first. If you're planning to play mage, train 1H for example up to 30%, get some STR, save the rest of the points for mage skills and stuff. And then, later, join. There's no point to join mages already at level 3 and then wonder, why the melee skills and stats cost two times more points to raise and how are you then going to get those points, being only a mage, level 3, and cannot even kill a single bloodfly without getting almost killed yourself

Basically, do the quests, check around, clear out the whole world, level up, train non-mage skills to basic level where they'll be useful - 1h at 30% is OK, 2H needs to be at 60% to be of use really, get STR (and DEX a bit too) to 75-80 - and only then go and join the guild. There's no hurry with joining any guild too soon (with the exception of thieves, can join these - or take out - at any time you feel comfortable with it).

i think thats one of the reasons why devs included the 1000gold thing in the original G2, so that people wouldnt join the guild too soon
