Is lockpicking a worth-while skill to learn? or is it something you use only sparingly for certain quests througout the game?

I found lockpicking to be a total waste of XP points just make sure you have a lot of lockpicks handy i usually want to have around 30-40

Lockpick skills is useless, whill only let your lockpick break less if you make a mistake.
To open chest, just save before, find the right combo to open a chest and then load the game again.
That way you can open chest without losing lockpicks.

To be admitted to the Old Camp you have to get Lockpicking lvl1 anyways...

yes thats true save before finding the combo to open the chest, but it will get boring as they are plenty of chests to loot

Not true. By solving all other quests you can have access, even with failing to impress Fingers.

Lockpicking can be useful if you want to play the game the hard and more realistic way(without load/save when lockpicking a chest).

Costs to much skillpoints thou, that you wish you had saved when you reach higher levels in wich you wish deeply you spent thoose skillpoints on the things you need now instead of then.
