Spoiler...
In the swamp camp, I picked the two chests of the smithy. Wow, found dozens of blades, raw steel, etc. So I made dozens of crude swords.
Later I discovered I had 3 blades left. So I fashion 3 swords. Then I check my inventory, still 3 blades??? I go at the grindstone again, and I am able to make an unlimited number of swords!!
How can I tell if I'm killed or just down? I never seem to be able to get up. On the flip side, how do I kill someone? |

It takes some time to get up after you get your butt whipped by npc's(you can see when they kill you there), but when animals and monsters do that, then you are finished (fire spells gives a death kiss too).

Use bows to send someone to other side. Or after you knock him down use Ctrl+Right (i think) |

Yeah, the unfinished blade symphony is a well-known issue. Happened to me, too. About delivering the finishing blow, after your target went down, bring it into focus and do the usual forward/action key combination. You kill people with sharp-edged weapons only in this manner - hammers and clubs won't kill.

Certain grinding wheels will grind swords all day long. You don't need skills or materials or anything, if you use them, you make swords. If you see a wheel that is in constant daytime use by the same NPC, it probably will grind swords for you no matter what.
The grinding wheel on the mercenary's side in the NC and the one Herek always uses in the OC are that way. You probably just found another wheel like those.
You can try it, drop all your materials and see if you can grind swords, if you can, it's a magic wheel! If you can't grind swords without picking the materials up again then it's just a case of the 'more is better' bug going crazy.
