Money spent on training question

Do you think this is a bug or intentional?

When you get training from an NPC, the money you spend does not appear in their amount in the barter window. This does not seem right to me. I think that if I spend 500 on training that they amount of money should go up by 500. At least that way if I wanted to sell the something, they would have a little more money to items sold to them.

I am interested in any thoughts or comments on this.

I agree. Any amount of money that you give an NPC (by whatever means) should appear in their "purse."

I also totally agree, it is irritating fact. Where does the money go?

Very true, doesn't make sense, personally think it is a bug because enchanters keep their extra money when you pay them to enchant items... if only they would buy armor and weapons

Weird. When I pay that friendly quest-givin cat guy in the Balmora mage guild, the money is always there when I go to barter. Don't forget that when you train time goes by, and after a while their money resets.

Yes, over time their amount does change, but if I spend 1000 gold on training and then go immediately into barter with them and they only have 200 gold.... that is either a bug or a really bad design decision.

Also, along the same lines... I have several high dollar items now that I doubt I will ever use. I don't see the point in making the value so high that you can never sell them. I know that there are ways around this... buying all of a NPC's items to raise their gold and then selling them the exspesive item. Then reselling all the other items back to them over time. That is just too time consuming and no fun at all. Or you can try trading your items for a really exspensive item they have. I tried this with one NPC who had a soul gem for 60k. Couldn't do it though since she would not buy any of the items I wanted to sell!

I think a better system could have been (can be with patch or mod) put together for the economy/bartering in MW.

i totally aggree although there is a way to go around this problem, by using the editor. someone from this forum said that he changed the amount the guy in caldera has on him when u start to barter from 5 to 100k. so all this reselling is this way much more simplified - though u still have to do some thingamagigs when u have a daedric item worth over 100k imo the editor is great, in being able to fix slight gameplay bugs for everyone in their own individual way.

This game would be incredibly easy if I could sell every high-value item I came across. Only a very few NPCs should be able to buy items above 10k and even then these NPCs should only rarely have such funds. Sure it would be nice to fence that ebony cuiress, but I would be able to buy several levels with that kind of gold.

Maybe the NPC goes and has some fun, while you spend a few hours doing the homework they teach you

This game *would* be too easy if you could sell every expensive item you came across....

However, the root of the problem is that it is too easy to get high value items!

I did some quests for the mage guild and got a dagger worth 10K. It is an above average dagger that has soul trap ability built in. Really, this item should be worth more like 1K or so. Soul trap ability is nice but not so incredibly valuable to make it worth 10K.

If a game makes it easy to get really expensive items, then something is wrong to begin with.
