It's been a long time coming..I've been playing video games since the original PONG game in the early '70's and I am blown away by MW. I remember a buddy of mine in the late '70's getting a hand-held football game that was just blinking lights and we were in awe. In the '80's I got into D+D paper and pen games and would dream about it as being real. Today I have MW and when I play it I'm stunned by the "realness" of it. This is a game I will be playing for years to come. And with the editor I will be able to make those D+D games I would dream about come to life.
All of you putting the game down for this or that must be young to not realize the power within this game and what the future holds. You say this or that is not right or fair when talking about the game. Hey Life is like that. I know in real life I'm WAY over taxed -- but if I don't pay I go to jail. There are LOTS of things that are not "right" or "fair" in real life. I'm thankful to have a game like MW to play. |

Yes, morrowind is an excellent game!
Just think how the RPG game will be in the future? Even more freedom... more realness... |

Yes. Yes it does. It rocks the pants off any other RPG before it. It makes me feel embarrassed that I plunked down 70$ for Dungeon Siege at release, and that my barbarian in Diablo 2 has 100+ hours invested into it.
Only complaint I have is how the game gets frightfully easy at a very specific point in the game, about 3/4 of the way through the main quest. At that point (if you're a battlemage, anyway) you basically become a giant, axe-wielding, unstoppable tank of death. I make up for it by wearing a robe that makes me look like a pansy, but I'm dead inside.
Otherwise I haven't been so enamored of a game world since Ocarina of Time.

I couldn't agree more Fireteddy. I bought Dungeon Siege the day of release and started playing and after 20hrs I was bored out of my mind with it. Maybe it was because of the 100+ hours of Diablo 2. But I went on ahead and finished the game and I may never go back to it.
I've put in 30+hrs playing MW and I don't want to turn the game off to go to bed -- I WANT TO KEEP PLAYING. This game makes the hours vanish -- how many times have I looked over at the clock and said, "My God, It's 3am." Great game. |

Yeah. Dungeon Siege is boring because the story line was too linear. I got bored with it after several hours. After installing Morrowind, I knew I would never laod it up again so I just uninstalled D Siege and even deleted the save games
The freedom of choice in Morrowind really adds to the realism and enjoyment. I like seeing more and more games having this now-a-days. _________________ T®îßã£Måñ

I don't understand how you could find Dungeon Siege boring when it actually had things going on, and not find Morrowind horribly dull...
It's fun for a while, but it gets so repeatative that it'll make you want to vomit. |

Wait, are you talking about DS or MW, Llama?
For the record, I had fun with Dungeon Siege...
...the 20 hours that the singleplayer game afforded me. I'm 40-some hours into Morrowind and I don't even feel like I've started playing the game yet - less than 10% of the world map is uncovered. Quality better than quantity, you say? Sure, it may be stupid, but as great as quality is, a tiny little plateful of high quality gaming (DS) can't compare with a whelping serving of higher-quality - albeit full of bugs - gaming (MW).
Actually picturing what those meals would look like, I think I'd rather eat Dungeon Siege. Luckily they're not meals.
Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks, ah'suppose.

I'd say this is the best game I've played, and I've played a f**k of a lot.
It's up their with my all time favourites: Deus Ex, Torment, System Shock 2, Elite, X-Com. In terms of re-playability, graphics, non-linearity: well, it is unequalled. _________________ --

MW is the ROLEPLAYING game I've been looking for. At times it seems alive. This game will be around for a long time. I bet 2 years from now I will still be playing this game and I've never done that before ( not even with Diablo 2 ). |

morrowind does rock...too bad it doesn't roll! it is in a league of its own when compared to diablo 2 & dungeon siege (which are truely boring & hardly count as rpgs). however, i think there are some serious NPC flaws in MW...which is to say in NPC's are nothing more than objects to be interacted with. i think this is where gothic really shines. also, the combat system has a tendency to become tedious. i feel like i am interacting with the world through a box (both literally and figuratively). as much as people on these forums like to seperate 1st person shooter games & rpg games, i think there could have been a nice fusion between the two in MW. the freedom to wander in MW is unmatched in any previous games, this is where MW is at its best. finally, the freedom involved in the magic system is great (if you look at any of my other posts you will notice that i don't love the maicka regain system, but that is neither here nor there). it is nice to be able to create your own spells. all in all MW is a great game that does rock, it is just too bad that they forgot how to roll. _________________ "The origin of things, if things have an origin, cannot be revealed to me, if revealed at all, until I have travelled very far from it, and many revolutions of the sun must precede my first dawn.
