| Wizardry 8: Gamespy's 25th Most Underrated Game |

Gamespy have followed up their series on overrated games with a new editorial feature on the most underrated games. Semantic arguments aside, I doubt most gamers will disagree with the choice of Wizardry 8 as an underrated game, coming in at <a href="http://www.gamespy.com/articles/september03/25underrated/index3.shtml" target="_blank">No. 25</a> in their estimation. |

Technically its #24 not #25. I think its only fair we do justice to the complex statistical analysis which likely went into each game's placement on the list. |

Yeah,they threw all the rpgs ever released which didn't sell well into a hat and started picking. |

What's wierd is they don't knock the game at all that I can tell. It seems like it should be the 24th most underrated game, not overrated. |

I read it again. Both of them say the game is great, but with older graphics. The description lists the only problems as not being able to secure a publisher ar proper marketing.
I would of put down combat. Quests, story, graphics, and everything about this game was great but the combat got way to tedious after a while in my opinion. It drove me nuts to wait 55 hours for 6 billion flies to move when they where all one hit kills to me.
I much more prefer toee's combat |

I wonder what under rated means?
Wizardry 8 won lots of awards and sold well.
It was sort of a weird combo of sprites and 3d but actually parts of the graphics were state of the art. Then the monsters and items were really old school looking. |

Under rated means that the game was rated below what,in this case Gamespy,thinks it should have been rated.Over rated is the opposite.I too have noticed that people don't seem to be able to read as well as they should.Blame it on the computer.Keep up those reading skills guys,more important than "great cleave" any day. |

all right, got it. I'm a big dumb idiot. The sad part is I read it like four times and still didn't catch on that it wasn't the same line of overrated games (mowwowind and NWN where in it), but now it was underrated.
Good thing I'm supposedly well educated. I guess I should lay of the cheeba for a while. |
