Pool of Radiance 2: Gamespy's 11th most overrated game |
|
Surging well ahead of NWN and Morrowind in Gamespy's 25 Most Overrated Games is Pool of Radiance: RoMD which has the dubious honour of being number 11. Here's a snip:
Unfortunately, the actual release was a disaster. First there was the technical issue of killer bugs -- including one, it was reported, that could erase a user's hard drive. Yet, even when the game was patched, it turned out that the updating of Pool of Radiance was a barely passable dungeon crawl filled with uninspired monsters, a boring, linear storyline, and a very bad implementation of the D&D 3.0 rule set. Sometimes the past should stay in the past.
|

Yes, and again it proves how poorly the series' title was chosen. These are clearly overHYPED games, not overrated _________________ =Proud Father of a new gamer GIRL!=

That might be true, Ekim.
And i also wonder what is the points (if have any) of this latest series of discussion at all. I mean either a games were overhyped or overrated, it's result of everybody in the game industry: 1) Game developer, for more often than not hyping up their own games; 2) Gaming media like GameSpy themselves, for spreading the hypes with various previews and Q&A sessions that sound awfully nice; 3) Gamers, where most younger people easily susceptible to hypes, or hardcore gamer that can't wait for another upcoming "revolutionary" products.
And while GameSpy said Morrowind is overrated, they also awarding MW with "Best CRPGS of the Year 2002" award. But at least i heard one of the MW developer said it's good to have finally getting ahead of NWN in this latest "award" from Gamespy . |
