Should I go toward a "warrior-mage" character?

Hi

I am almost ready to end chapter I, in the sense I have done what is needed either to join the Paladins, Magicians of Fire or Mercenaries. Currently at level 13, with 65 STR/40 DEX, 30% trained to 1H and Bow, 15% trained to 2H and Crossbow. I invested 25 points in Alchemy, so I can now increase STR/DEX directly with potions.

My idea was to reach 80 STR with potions in order to wield DragonSlicer and be trained a little bit more with 2H. Other than that, all XP should go in Magic-related training.

My question: is still this possible? Or I have invested too much in STR/DEX and weapon training that I would need too much time to be a good Magician? Just wondering... Also I like the Mage robe

Thanks,

Saruman

I don't think it matters. I am pretty sure you can choose to be a magician and only train in swords or projectiles if you want. If you be a magician, you can still choose to use weapons of magic, so it does not matter what skills you train. As a paladin I never used any of my runes, and prefered using my crossbow. Next time I play I'll join the mercenaries and fully train in regular bow skill. When I am a magician, I'll probably fully train 1H sword skill and magic. Of course, that is assuming once your a mage, there is even any NPC's that can train you in 1H swords. As far as what you've already spent for experience points, it doesn't matter much. Do whatever you want, this game is designed so that only you can shape your character.
