You should correct your newsbit. Those 4 screenshots do not show new spell effects. The first two are of a fight with Diablo but in a differenr location than where he usually is. The spell effects shown have been in game.
The second two screenshots show a fight with a new "Boss" monster. Lilith is apprently a new boss as she was not in the game before. Again, the spell effects shown are familiar to long time players of Diablo 2. |

EDIT to my above post.
It would seem the Diablo fight is taking place in Tristam.
Tristam is the original town from Diablo 1.
In Diablo 2, Tristam was populated by some monsters and the "boss" Griswold.
Griswold was a merchant in Tristam in Diablo 1.
He met a terrible fate and became a Demon in Diablo 2. |

D'oh... thanks for the correction . It's fixed in the newsbit on the main page (the forum entry does not update accordingly). I only looked at the thumbs and, well, it looked like spell effects from a "distance" . Thanks for the clarification on what's really in those screenies. |

I can't believe they are still supporting it after all this time. Not just supporting it, but adding new content too from the sound of it. That's pretty impressive. |

Yes, they are spell effects, but not new. The ring of fire type one is a Diablo attack. The Lighning looking one is from an Assasin character lightning trap.
They still support it and add content because people still play it regularly. Also, the Battle.net free online service is kind of revolutionary in hindsight. It helped sales of all their games remain stable even years after release. |

Uhm, What do you think are the changes, other than the new boss? _________________ "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing" -Edmund Burke. Mentioned in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. |

My educated guess.
Something to curb rushing. Maybe level minimums to enter new Acts.
An Enchant nerf.
More or different synergies.
The usual bug fixes, new runewords, etc. |

Technically, Lilith is not a new monster, either. She looks exactly like Andariel, though with a new color scheme, and in a different location (which looks surprisingly like The Forgotten tower, previosly home of the Countess) |

From a well educated source, D3 is rumored to be in the works... that's all I know. |
