Getting in Repax Castle

I have looked for a way into castle and can find nothing . freed the Repax who wants the staff but no hint . I have the sanctum key but it soesn't work on chain door. I am totally stuck here. I read a spoiler about a pillar which a can click on but no luck. I have totlaly cleared the place but can't find the pillar which opens door. HELP

Go to that hole in the wall with the lava flowing through, and a few stepping stones you can walk halfway into the hall behind the door you can't open.
On the other side of the hall from the hole in the wall, check out the broken support pillar. Don't stand under where the stuff falls, it crushes. Now you can open that door, with your extra key, from this side to create a 13-step shortcut. I suspect this was rigged when they didn't finish the part of the game that would have included fixing the broken bridge.
