I'm fed up with it.... I finally kill all the dragons. I go down to Xardas' secret library, and I can't kill these skeletons. I'm using a heavy crossbow I think it was, whatever one does 75 base damage, like 103 dex, a little over 60% crossbow (Can't find anyone to train higher). I've also invested into str up to ~70ish and have 2-h above 30% (fighter), and using 2-H magic ore blade.
Still, these skeletons seem nearly invincible, they barely get hurt at all. Is there some big secret that I don't know? |

Skeletons are VERY resistant to arrows and bolts. Use a blunt melee weapon like the mace. FIght them one at a time if you don't have 1H skill at a very high level. _________________ All shall hear the words of Karras...the words of Karras |

What are you playing? Merc, mage or paladin? I believe merc, right?
Try to develop your 1hand at least 30% and with the Orc Slayer (65 damage) or similar 1 h weapon (Torturer axe) you should be able to take them down one by one ...
2 hand 30% is the worst against skeletons as you're not fast enough (as with 1 hand) and you're not good enough (only 30%) so often your sword will remain "hanged" on your shoulder after a swing (left or right) |

Oooh, I almost forgot ...
Since you're not a good sword fighter, NEVER atack first a skeleton...
Let him atack first and block, then his sword will "hang" on his shoulder, that's the time for one or two short swings (left-right , or left forward) than retreat and block again...
If you have particular problem with the skeletons in the basement of the monastery, try to make them chase you in the main room where Talamon (the guarding mage) will handle with them (but you'll loose the xp and will take you some time cause there more then 10 or so ...) |

Ok, I got through it. (BTW, I'm playing as a paladin) I put some points into 1-h and 2-h and str, so I'm holding orc slayer and on one of those good hits I can take away 1/3 of their health. But the easier way was to use the arrows rune that you get as a paladin. 2 hits of that will take one out, and I had a little less than 20 mana and could get 3 shots / bar. |
