| Just finished Gothic - Question |
|
Why does banishing the Sleeper destroy the Barrier? If the Sleeper caused the Barrier to be bigger than it should, surely with the Sleeper gone the Barrier would just revert to its intended size? |

My theory: The Sleeper's power originally disrupted the creation of the barrier and it became bigger than it should have been. The Sleeper's energy feed the barrier and keep it going at it's enlarged size. When the Sleeper was removed from that plane of existance the barrier lost it's power source and could no longer maintain it's present size. Therefore, it collapsed.

Or, you it could be that the Sleeper was such a powefull creature (lots of magic) that when he was destroyed, all the power that he had was unleashed. That magic was enough to destroy the whole barrier, and destroy the whole land with earthquakes and such.

remember when u zapped the sleeper with a lightning bolt from uriziel in the fmv? well i reckon that because u got that magical energy from a source big enogh 2 destroy the barrier (the ore mound in case u 4got), when it was unleashed it destroyed it
