Leaving Guilds or Houses?

Is it possible to do? I want to join a different house, but I need to leafve the one I'm in. I got myself expelled, but that doesn't count, and I'm still considered a member.

To clarify this, when I attempt to join House Telvanni, they tell me I can't be cause I'm a member of house Hlaalu, even though I went through the trouble of getting myself expelled. Is there a real way to leave a house? Being expelled pretty much means you are still in, you just owe them 500 gold, and I'm trying to get out for good

You can't leave a faction, period. You can sign up for only one House.

The Great Houses are like organized crime syndicates (some more than others without spoiling). You don't leave the Family. You get... retired. Since you're obviously too tough to retire (something about unlimited save game loads ) the worst they can do is make it known that you're still part of the house... just gone rogue. Besides, from a RP point of view... why would another house risk taking you in? You could be a spy, no matter what you say. Or... you shafted the other guys why wouldn't you shaft us?
