| JoWood deal means Gothic 2 Addon might be heading to the UK? |

Now that I've hooked you with that headline...JoWood has <a href="http://www.jowood.com/press/?lang=en" target="_blank">announced</a> a new distribution deal with Koch media. Here's the important part of the announcement:<blockquote><em>Koch Media will be responsible for distribution of JoWooD products in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and <b>Great Britain</b>

<br>Rottenmann/Höfen, 04/07/2004; JoWooD Productions Software AG, a publicly traded company on the Vienna Stock Exchange, has concluded a distribution/marketing agreement with Koch Media GmbH for the countries Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and Great Britain. Koch Media will be responsible for all matters concerning retail supervision as well as active PR and marketing of the JoWooD product range, 2004. The agreement includes the day-1-release and all other marketing steps concerning the individual titles. Among other titles, the agreement includes the new stealth action shooter, Gorky Zero, the implementation of the movie rights for Torque (German title Hart am Limit) <b>as well as add-on’s and gold or special editions of SpellForce, Gothic 2</b> and Söldner – Secret Wars. The eagerly awaited game, Söldner – Secret Wars, will be released in May and marketed though BigBen Interactive.</em></blockquote>Smarter men than I have gone mad trying to work out if/when the G2 Addon will be released outside of German territories. While this announcement does <b>not</b> explicitly guarantee the G2 Addon will be released it certainly seems to indicate Koch now have the rights to distribute it in Great Britain - and that's a start...I think... (Highlights are mine). |

Well let's all hope that's the case. I can't understand why it hasn't been released already. It's got an inbuilt market.

I think the best bet at this stage is if we write and ask for the 'gold' edition - G2 +expansion to be published in english.... |

i still dont see why they shouldnt release it
i think it would be a huge mistake if they didnt .. sure its just an addon but even if it is a whole lot of english speaking people would get pissed if they couldnt get the whole deal and i dont think they'd like that cuz then i think G3
wouldnt sell as well as it could
just an idea |

I would import this in a heartbeat...after hearing the reports from all you German-speaking guys, I deliberately stopped playing Gothic (I wasn't very far anyway, but was loving it) because it sounds like the add-on completely re-makes the game. Hurry up, already! |

It's very usefull to play the game first without the addon, cause the difficultylevel will increase big time with the addon |
