Both would make into my top 10 best games of all time. Part 4,5,6 would be close behind them as well.

Try to imagine this:

Britannia rebuild in a modified gothic 2 engine with support for a party and the combat system changed to be more like ultima7 (i.e. you engage combat and you and party attack the nearest opponent like madmen). It would also need to support the ability to drag and drop stuff around and a paper doll system for you and your party....

Don't you realise it's still illegal to download this game? You should have been more careful with your floppys man....

I don't know of any place where you can legally download it. eBay will usually have an Ultima Collection up on auction. Try there.

In fact... click me! There's quite a few available.

How to run Ultima 7 on XP?

I have the ultima collection and have heard so much about Ultima 7. I would love to play it while waiting for the Lazrus patch 1.2. Problem is it's a dos game and I'm running XP of course. Can anyone tell me how to do that, please?
Lazrus BTW is destined to be a cult classic. IMHO

I got "The Complete Ultima 7" on CD-Rom. Both parts with both addons.
The combat sys wasn that good. No real control of your partymembers. They were always chasing after enemies...

Btw Worlds of Ultima - Savage Empire was nice too. And of course Ultima Underworld.

Ultima 8 wasn that bad after all, except the jumping parts...

I miss theese times... Ultima 6 for C64 with 1000 floppys.

You can adjust their behaviour (defensive, aggressive, attack nearest monster, attack strongest monster, etc.). Just read the manual.

BTW, I loved combat in Ultima 7. Just pressing a button to begin combat, and pressing the same button for ending it. I really, really hate combat in most rpgs, e.g. every DnD-rpg. It's just repetitive and too boring. Gothic, on the other side, had a more ... dangerous, riskier system that was fun.
