I'm screwed, trainers won't train me!

Hi. I've run into a problem because I've been putting all my learning points on bow and dexterity. Now I'm level 12 and want to learn sword but the mercenary Cord says he won't train amateurs and the malitia trainer won't train mercs! What the hell do I do now?

I'd appreciate any help.

Train at Buster first. (The guy next too the lake in front of Onar's Farm.) When you train with him until he teaches you then you can go to Cord.

Phew what a relief. Thankyou. But Buster can only train one handed, is there someone who can train two handed?
I thought it would be a good idea getting good with the bow first so I could kill monsters I wouldn't normally be able to by standing on a ledge or something. I made two mistakes: I learned bow instead of crossbow. I found a cool composite bow but it needs 45 dex so I put all those damn points on dex when I could have used a crossbow with 25 dex, and also it turns out there aren't that many convenient ledges and stuff near monsters. With humans you can run away, wait until they stop chasing you then plink a few arrows into them but most critters and orcs run too fast and chase you for too long. Also arrows are useless against skeletons and crawler warriors so it's turning out to be a struggle. Oh well.

Thanks again.

Try using a Master Sword, it requires dexterity. Go down form the mercys to that 'Hungry Hunter' and go straight on. There will be 2 Trolls...

... that may present a problem if you only have a bow. I love the bows personally. Orcs can't parry the arrows, and usually it only takes two to kill a warrior. Also I prefer onehanded melee weapons when I go into close fights as they are faster than twohanded.

I agree concentrate on the one-handed weapons. I never put a single point into dex as a merc, only ate the goblin berrys. only put a point into dex, when there was nothing left to learn

Ah Rod, I forgot about him. Thankyou kindly. Turns out I'm not doing too baddly with the bow. I can stop a charging orc or even a dragon snapper because you can fire so quick the arrows keep them back. A crossbow can't do that so I'll have to amend my opinion on that.

Thanks again.
