In Gothic you can do a lot of interaction:
1- you can sneak ..
2- you can pick locks
3- sit on a chair or in a bed
4- Fry some meat using a pan over a camp fire
5- pick-pocket
6- lit a torche and many more things
but just one question ? how do you extinguish a torche ??
throw its torch in the river does not function haha !!!

go into your inventory, select your torches, press control+up. good control system, but takes bloomin' ages to work out. |

Best at night and when people are sleeping, press A to sneak and walk up behind people who are in the middle of sleeping or drinking etc, press ctrl+up when name is highlighted you will try to pickpocket, you might get "Unable to steal anything" |

If they have anything worth stealing, you'll get a 'cannot steal from' message. Like any storekeeper or named NPC.
Thieves get hurt in this game. But they always do. Poor skills... just not as important as magic circles or weapon mastery. |

Fallout (1 and 2) and Arcanum are the only RPGs I know that allow theives to fill their potential. |

When i want to extinguish a torch i just carry two torch and when i light one and just to extinguish press the left button mouse and the up key(remember it works only with two torch).
