I choose the kind of melee combat wich is most useful for my character class
I am a mage now so I train one-handed combat. |

I dunno i like 2handed because of the good damage being able to kill an orc elite in one blow.
But it is damn slow to swing, and that sucks in the beginning because you cannot use the hit hit block tactic wich is very good.
So my vote to One Handed |

I like big two-handers. May be slower, but the damage is a good trade-off. _________________ -=Professional Secret Agent=-

?? You're a mage and you train one-handed??? I'm mage now and I'm using two-handed, only 1 really big problem with that. It's 20 learning points for 5% skill upgrade But I love two-handed when it's 60-100% (that's what I had as paladin). The combo is so easy to do and you can keep going (up up up left right up up up left right )My bro finished the game with merc and thinks one handeds better. _________________ ++//..ThîÑK Få$T õ|2 ß Lâ§t ..\\++

Deffently one-handed weapons
Less LP points needed to train
Less Strenght needed to use
They dont have that much different in damage from two-handed
They are the first dicent weapons to find(note:the first DICENT...cause the first weapon you find in gothic1 is the pickaxe and its two-handed)
and what I said is for Gothic and Gothic2
Also Uriziel doesnt matter if you are trained to 1h or 2h and Ulu-Mulu I think its 1h
In Gothic 2 after the blessing the 1h sword has only 10 damage difference from the bleesed 2h.
Mages use one handed.
You can train in one-handed combat from the first chapter.
So I vote 1h. _________________ I come from space.From outer space! |

Ummm balconygolf_the_bride I was thinking along the lines of Gothic 2 not Gothic 1 . We all know Uriziel and Ulu-Mulu were great weapons and all but i was referring to Gothic 2. Also don't you all think two handers look like 10x better?! _________________ ++//..ThîÑK Få$T õ|2 ß Lâ§t ..\\++

Sure you know Ulu-Mulu and Uriziel but I was refering to those to show that you dont need 2h training to use them. Also whats the difference between
1h&2h in Gothic and 1h&2h in Gothic2?what is valid for those in Gothic is valid in Gothic2 too.As for the beauty of the weapons, I like my sword to be gentle and at the same time deadly and 1h swords do that to the maximum.Regarding 2h Axes, you are right, they are designed nicer than the 1h Axes.Axes are supposed to be big raw power; thats why usually Dwarfs use them...so a contrast will take place regarding Dwarfs size and the size of their Axes. _________________ I come from space. From outer space! |

1 handed takes just as many points to train as 2 handed in G2. You can also train 2 handed from ch 1. You may be right about the small difference in damge though. Might be worth it since one can hit faster with 1 handed. _________________ Just watch out you don't stress yourself out.

i vote for 1h because you can't use a 2h weapon to its full potential till you are a master in 2h combat.Indeed 2h weapons are better looking than 1h weapons. _________________ WORK ORC |

But Balconygolf_the_bridge you seem to forget that in G1 you HAVE to master 1h before you go into 2h, so either way you get 1h weapons, also in G1 it's alot easier to master both, so that's why I want to know if ppl like/chose 1 or 2 handed weapons in G2 since it's very very hard to master both to 100%. _________________ ++//..ThîÑK Få$T õ|2 ß Lâ§t ..\\++

But you end up mastering both. Maybe not to 100 but you don't have a real choice. After you get fighter in say 1H you end up contributing to both 1H and 2H when you train for master. You keep contributing to both til each skil is at fighter and beyond til skill each is at master. As Cord says if you train with him 'you end up in the same place either way.' Since the first really decent weapons you get are 1H I vote you start out training 1H and end with 2H since you'll have the strength for the biggest of damage weapons by the end of it. _________________ Just watch out you don't stress yourself out.
